Reducing our footprint. Increasing our impact.
In 2022, we announced a new goal to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2029, from 2019 levels. This goal is aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidance and the Paris Agreement.
We recognize the importance of water stewardship for the safety, health, and sustainment of our operations, communities, and watershed. We are committed to reducing water use 10% by 2029 across our major operations worldwide, from 2022 levels.
Also see our aspirational goals for IDE and supplier diversity.

Direct Impact
Investing and innovating for a better world.
We’re proud that many Fortive products and services support sustainability directly by powering clean energy and critical infrastructure, reducing water and waste, and ensuring safe, sterile healthcare environments.
Advanced technologies help hospitals, healthcare facilities, and laboratories meet critical safety and quality of care standards. For example, Censis’ CensiTrac® software tailors the instrument tray list for procedures and tracks instrument usage to identify unused instruments, reducing the cost, energy, and water use needed for sterilization.
Connected workflows, and powerful analytics drive energy efficiency and ensure safe conditions. For example, the Fluke ii900 Sonic Industrial Imager pinpoints compressed air, gas, and vacuum leaks, helping customers reduce their GHG emissions and utility bills.
Specialized expertise ensures safety, precision, and reliability in a wide variety of industries, from food and beverage production to clean energy. For example, Anderson-Negele’s intelligent sensors enable food and beverage companies to achieve precise fill rates to avoid production downtime and food waste.
